I guess the work weeks for me start as well. I spent all morning and afternoon cleaning the house from floor-to ceiling and everything in between!
The puppies also got a good scrubbin!
I didn't get any pictures of Roxy in the tub. She is not as well behaved as her brother. Then there was a good solid hour of the dogs running around the house as if they were on crack!
Phillip didn't have a lunch today so he came home around 2 and I made us some yummy sandwiches. He surprised me by stopping at the Self Help center and bringing home an electric lawn mower. I was relieved since I was thinking all day about the yard and had resigned to the idea that I would trim all the grass by hands with scissors.
I have never seen or heard of an electric lawn mower. It was a new experience for the both of us. I still went out with the scissors and trimmed the edges and pruned my plants. Since there is now a giant sign in the yard that says "yard of the month", we ought to make it look as such!
We started with just dirt/sand out front. The rose bush and fan palm were there, but everything else was done by us in the 2.5 months that we have been here.
Since it has only been in the 90's this week, the rose blossoms haven't burned completely up and are actually pretty!
I have replanted too many plants this summer. I hope this arrangement sticks!
I'm interested to see how the front turns out now that we replaced the cactus we killed with a flowering shrub.
The grass isn't perfect yet, but pretty impressive for living in the middle of the desert!
The sign Soaring Heights put in our yard! Although we moved it from the middle. I hope it can still be seen!
Our front patio area where I would like to put a little bistro set so I can sit out front and sip wine in the evenings when it starts to get cooler. Or just maybe I should just get a rocking chair and people watch like some old biddy!
The rose bush is outta control! Its going to get a good pruning when its season is over!
A close up of Arizona grass!
After all the yard work and much deliberation, we decided to go to the movies with 2 of Phill's buddies to see Horrible Bosses. It was pretty hilarious. Plus I think Jason Bateman is a super cutie!
Our dinner was inspired by our lack of time and a well-timed commercial. We went to the Subway in the Food Court at the mall and tried their new Pulled Pork BBQ sub. I loved it! I would definitely recommend it!
We took the motorcycle again tonight. I love riding on it!
After the movie, we rode the motorcycle to the other end of town to find this gelato place. Of course, we got lost in this sketchy part of town, which reminds me to be thankful that we live on base! Finally we arrived at this place called Allegro that makes fresh organic gelato every day! And it was amazing! I tried salted caramel and mint chocolate while Phillip had salted caramel and Italian nougat. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Tucson area!
Such a cool place! This display case is on like a 45 degree angle and rotates! I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!
Then we came home. I fed and played with the pups and Phillip went to bed. He's still feeling the effects of his immunizations. So here I sit, blogging, being my nocturnal self. So that was another housewifey day! So exciting! I think tomorrow I am going to go buy a loaf pan and attempt at making some banana bread! We shall see!
Good Night!
